A leader in the market, Whet Travel is affiliated with America’s Vacation Center/American Express and upholds the highest service standards. Whet Travel sells cruises, vacation packages, and all inclusive resorts around the world with a focus on large affinity, theme and music groups. The Groove Cruise was created in 2004 and there have been 10 successful Groove Cruise events through 2007. Numbers of Groove Cruise attendees tripled from 2005 to 2007 and the event has been written up in several publications including CNN and a full feature article in the New York Times.

HOW WE GOT HERE

Whet Travel Inc. was created by travel visionary Jason Beukema in 2004. As a professional tour manager, Jason has taken over 130 different groups of people on cruises and vacations around the world since 2000. As he dove head first into the largest industry in the world, he noticed that something was missing. The world's most life-altering, dream fulfilling industry had become lackluster and full of too much information. Jason's friends were confused and made mistake after mistake after booking travel over the internet or through travel agents who did not understand their needs. His friend's had no idea about what travel planners did, how they save time and money and the value that they bring to the table in planning a vacation. The goal of Jason and Whet Travel is to create unique and unforgettable travel experiences and to educate young professionals on the value of a skilled travel planner.

THE GROOVE CRUISE BRAND

The Groove Cruise is the only large cruise experience in the world geared towards young professional dance music enthusiasts. Each year, The Groove Cruise sets sail with two weekend cruises, one from Miami in January and one from LA in late summer. Whet Travel also sets up beach parties, theme parties, shore excursions, sporting competitions, onboard fashion shows, and creates strategic partnerships to enhance the Groove Cruise experience to a level unreachable by any dance party or cruise alone. Past artist talent has included Robbie Rivera, DJ Dan, Bad Boy Bill, Cedric Gervais, Lee Burridge, Steve Porter, Colette, Donald Glaude, Scooter and Lavelle, Scotty Boy, Alex Peace, Trevor Simpson, Steve Smooth and many others. The Groove Cruise is the only event in the dance music industry where there is artist-fan interaction. Groove Cruise passengers rate the ability to travel with like minded people and hang out with celebrity musicians as being the top reasons for enjoying the Groove Cruise. Having been on 28 cruises, and a CLIA certified Master Cruise Counselor, Jason Beukema is an expert in the cruise business. When Jason travels on cruises, he is generally bored because there are few people his age, few events and activities for his demographic, and very poor nightlife. Seeing that a cruise ship is an incredible venue and that cruising is the highest rated vacation experience, Jason decided to create a cruise adventure for young professionals that was unlike anything in the cruise or dance music industry. In October 2004, Jason brought on a couple of musician friends and branded the Groove Cruise name. The first cruise resulted in such a strong response, Whet Travel now organizes two weekend Groove Cruises a year, has been on CNN and has taken over 2,100 young professionals on an unforgettable vacation.
